Steve Kidd's Diary: Star Trek Night

Was it in Leeds??, c October 1996

When did digital pictures become a thing? I'm saying for me it was 1999, when I borrowed a digital camera from college at Wakefield, took it to my sister's schoool down in Barlborough and took maybe a dozen before the card was full! I'm not 100% sure that 'progress' is a good thing in some cases

I wish I could name anybody on these pictures. The datemark on these slides tells they were developed in October 1996 on Boots transparencies.

Back in about '80 I started doing discos down at Pontefract Rugby Club, and somehow, they became my job. Pub quizzes and DJing. I must have made a reasonable fist of it, because I charged a lot for the time and was booked up. What was my 'best' one? This may have been it for the pure aspect of a crowd who really put the effort in (that was on them not me). There were many good ones, I enjoyed them and I hope the people who came along did, but in that big darkened room at the beginning of the night with a huge picture of Deep Space Nine on the screen and the rock version of the theme playing was, I thought, good, appropriate. They only wanted me to play Star Trekkin' on repeat!! I'd love to know where it was and who all these people are. We cannot comprehend numbers.

Whatever, I've cropped absolutely mundane bits out of these pictures, and here they are for what they are worth. I reckon they are best viewed in landscape so rotate your 'phone appropriately! Any help with identification of people, places and dates would be appreciated.
